Before moving one to answer our question, let's learn about the Earth's layers.

There are three layers of Earth. Which are as follows :

(i) Crust

(ii) Mantle

(iii) Core

  • Crust is the uppermost layer of the Earth.

  • It's composed of many igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.

  • It is just like a thin covering of the Earth 'bout 8 kilometres.

  • It's thick 'bout 32 kilometres in oceanic crust and continental crust.

  • But the Crust is thick in mountainous areas 'bout 70 kilometres.

  • Mantle is the middle layer of the Earth.

  • Mantle is made up of rocks and ices.

  • Mantle is the largest layer and is most massive layer of the Earth.

  • Mantle contains all the elements which are found on Earth.

Mantle is 'bout 2,900 kilometres thick which is found between Crust and Core.

  • Core is the innermost part of the Earth.

  • Core is a ball - like structure inside the Earth.

  • Core is the hottest part of the Earth.

  • Core is 'bout 1250 km thick.

  • The radius of the core is approximately 1,220 kilometres.

Now, when we compare the thickness of all the three layers, we found that,

Thickness of Mantle > thickness of Core > thickness of Crust

Therefore, from the above relation we can conclude that,
