You are driving on a slippery road, in a car that does not have Anti-lock Brakes (ABS). If your car starts to skid sideways when you step on the brake, you should a. Continue pressing firmly on the brake, and steer in the direction you want to go. b. Quickly apply the parking brake to try to straighten the car. c. Then release the parking brake, and push gently on the brake pedal. d. Take your foot off the brake, unless you are about to hit something. e. Steer in the direction of the skid to straighten your car. Then brake gently.
