A circuit is shown in the diagram given below.

(a) Find the value of R.(b) Find the reading of the ammeter.(c) Find the potential difference across the terminals of the battery.

a) Since R and 6 ohm resistor are in series, same current flows through them,(i.e.,) 'I' through the resistor is 6V/R.

I = V/R

6V/R = 12/6

R = 3 ohm

b). I = V/R

=6/3

= 2 A

c) Potential difference = 6 V + 12 V

= 18 V
