In unicellular plants the transport of materials take place through diffusion and osmosis.
Gases in the plants move by diffusion while various substances that are required by plants move by the process of osmosis.
In brief, diffusion is the process by which random particles attain concentration equilibrium whereas osmosis is movement of liquid form higher to lower concentration through a membrane
