•Metals have 1,2or 3 electrons in the valence shell. So Can lose electrons easily.
•Metals Form basic oxides
•Metals are electropositive in nature
•Metals Acts as very good reducing agents

•They are not easily corrodible.
•Non metals have more than 4 electrons in their valence shell. So they can gain electrons easily.
•Non metals Form acidic oxides
•Non metals are electronegative in nature
•Non metals act as Great oxidizing agent
