What is the time period of revolution of a geostationary satellite? Does it rotates from west to east are from east to west?

Answered by admin @

A geostationary satellite is an earth - orbiting satellite, placed at an altitude of approximately 35,800 km directly above the equator. it revolves in the same direction the earth rotates.
Time taken by geostationary satellite to complete one revolution equals time taken by earth requires to rotate once on its axis.

so, Time period of geostationary satellite = 24 hours.

and it rotates from West to east because earth rotates from West to east.
