Heating effect of the current: When the current flows in the wire it gets heated. This effect is known as heating effect of the current. Higher the resistance, more the wire gets heated.

The heating of the current depends on the resistance and the current flowing in the conductor.

(1)Electric Bulb: The filament of the bulb is made of tungsten. It gives light due to the heating effect of the electric current.

(2)Electric iron: It is made of alloys. Alloys have high melting point. The electric iron heats up due to the heating effect of the current.
