Figure shows the field lines on a positive charge. Is the work done by the field in moving a small positive charge from Q to P positive or negative ? Give reason.

Answer :- Negative

Q is the away from positive charge than P. Here the positive force is exerted in the direction from P -> Q. In the question , we need to move a small positive charge from Q -> P , this against the positive charge. So the work done will be negative as charge needs to be displaced against the force exerted by the field.
