Draw stress-strain curve for a loaded steel wire and hence explain the terms: Elastic limit & yield point.

Answered by admin @

Answer:

Explanation:

Stress strain relation - stress/strain =constant =modulus of elasticity

Elastic limit - elastic limit is defined as the removal of the deforming force ,a solid body will regain its original state ,if the deforming force does not exceed a certain limit called elastic limit.

Yield point- if the stress is increase beyond the elastic limit a point reached where there is marked increase in extension .this point is called yield point
