How do I change an improper fraction to a mixed number IN SIMPLEST FORM

Answered by admin @

You take the denominator(bottom number) and multiply it with the whole number. example... 3 6/7       you multiply 3 and 7 which is 21

Then you take the numerator (top number) and add it to 21.   6+21 is 27

27 goes on top and 7 stays on the bottom the whole time.

27/7 cant be simplified, so that's your final answer.

To sum it up, multiply the whole number part by the fraction's denominator. Add that to the numerator, and then write the result on top of the denominator.
