What process are involved in the formation of igneous rocks

Answered by admin @

Igneous rock is the primary rock, by saying primary I mean this rock is formed by the consolidation of magma within the surface of earth or by the accumulation of lava on the surface of the earth. Rest all the rocks, sedimentary or metamorphic, are formed by various processes from the igneous rock.

Only process it involves is cooling and solidification of molten mass either on the surface or beneath the ground. Igneous rocks are classified into intrusive(rocks formed beneath the surface) or extrusive(rocks formed on the surface).
