Why the aqueous solution of sodium carbonate is basic in nature?

This is bcz when sodium carbonate reacts with any acid, it neutralises to produce sodium salt and carbon dioxide and hydrogen gas.
So as sodium carbonate neutralises an acid it is basic in nature.
