What is nlx method?how is it useful?

nlx is a short hand notation of electronic configuration.
It consists of the principal quantum energy level (n) sublevel (l) and the no. of electron (x) in the sublevel.
It helps to predict the values of all the four quantum number of any electron.
For eg:
Nitrogen atomic number 7
Electronic configuration is 1s² 2s² 2p³
