IDEAL GAS LAW

Ideal gas law states that the volume of a gas is directly proportional to the temperature provided the pressure remains constant.

so,

PV = nRT

where :-

P = PRESSURE

V = VOLUME

n = NUMBER OF MOLES OF GAS

R = UNIVERSAL GAS CONSTANT

T = TEMPERATURE

The value of the universal gas constant is 0.082057 L atm mol-1K-1 provided the unit for pressure must be atmosphere, for volume must be liter and for temperature it must be Kelvin.

Now,

When gas is heated, its temperature increases.

In the given case:-

pressure is constant.

so,

Applying formula

PV = nRT

here,

P is constant and T will be incresing as the gas is heated.

Thus,

Arriving at conclusion :-

If the gas is heated at a constant pressure then,The volume of the gas will increase.

Now, If volume remains constant during the process of heating, The pressure will increase as in case of PRESSURE COOKER.
