Which carbohydrate cannot be digested by humans and how does it help the digestive system?

The dietary fiber which we obtain from the plant based foods like grains and fruits etc. contains cellulose, lignin, mucilage, gum, pectin and hemi cellulose in them.
Our digestive system don't have the necessary enzymes to break these food particles and therefore without being digested the food particles move through our gut.
This helps us in gaining calories.
