These are the long and elongated type of the cells in which the cell wall thickness varies point to point that provides the support and strength. The thickness of their walls is due to the cellulose and pectin the is present in these walls.

These cells are found in the outer periphery and in the epidermis of the leaves and also present int he young leaves as well.
