What are the independent and dependent variables in an experiment?

Answered by admin @

An independent variable is manipulated, or changed. The dependent, or responding variable, changes based on the independent variable. The dependent variable is examined.

EXAMPLE:
If you are trying to determine how much water works best for growth of grass... Your independent variable would be the amount of water (you are controlling it). Your dependent variable is the grass growth, you are measuring it based on how it responds to the water.
