Difference between organ and organ system:
Organ:
Organ is defined as a group of tissues in a ‘living organism’ that is equipped to perform particular function. Cells of the same type make up tissues and different tissues together make an organ that has a destined function.
Example: Stomach is an organ involved in digestion.
Organ system:
Organ system is made by different organs which together perform a one or more biological functions. Humans have eleven organ systems.
Example: ‘Digestive system’ is made up of salivary glands, intestine, rectum, oesophagus, pancreas, stomach, liver, gall bladder, colon, and anus. Each perform a different function but together they help in digestion.
